Update from the Lake Kiowa SUD Board

The water district has been active this past year with the water line replacement Phase 4.  This will complete the west side of the lake with some of the north and most of the east side left to do.  We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while this work is going on.

The Lake Kiowa SUD(residents) currently owe 10 million dollars in 30-year public utility bonds.  Over half of this was to fund the latest underground water line work.  It will be necessary to increase water bills by at least 5% per year until there is sufficient income for us to borrow additional funds for the following:

- 3 to 4 million dollars to provide another drinking water well system.

- 10 to 15 million dollars to complete replacement for the underground lines on the east side of the lake as well as Blackfoot Trail.

The new well water system will be the first priority.  These estimates are based on today's dollars.

We hope to do the additional borrowing when interest rates are lower but must wait until we have sufficient income to cover the monthly notes.
